Secure the Sticky Box With Nylon Tape

If you have a drawer that constantly jams (or just doesn’t open very smoothly), a little of this special nylon tape will help you fix the problem.

This is one of the easiest decisions you can make your hands : just pick up some drawer sliding tape and put ti on “connecting” portion of the box:

For a more secure fit, glue the nylon sliding tape of the drawer to the parts that touch each other. You will find self-adhesive nylon tape (about $ 12 for a 1/2 “by 10” piece) at woodworking stores. One source is Rockler Woodworking and Hardware (rockler.com). The tape will not stick to wax or dirt, so first prepare the surface by lightly sanding with 100-grit sandpaper and then vacuum to remove any dust. Then simply cut the tape lengthwise with scissors, peel off the back and glue it onto the wooden rail of the drawer.

It only takes you 5 minutes and a couple of dollars. Read the post on Family Handyman to find out more below.
