Dark Pans Cook Faster, so Adjust the Time and Temperature

If you’re doing everything right in the recipe and your cakes and cookies are burnt, it could be calibrating your oven . If you are using dark pans, you will need to adjust the cooking time and temperature.

Chow explains why even if you follow the recipe, your baked goods may not turn out correctly. Dark pans will cook the outside faster, so either your baked food is too browned or the inside is not cooked. First, lower the oven temperature by 25 degrees. Then check the doneness 10 minutes early.
