Olive Oil : They explain that Italian olive growers named 2014 their worst harvest year in their memory. As a result, the production of olive oil in Italy decreased by 37%. And Spain, the largest exporter to the United States, has experienced a drought that is expected to drive up prices around the world.
Beef and Pork : Bacon prices hit an all-time high, Deal News reported, due to higher demand. But they add that “in addition to increased demand, the rise in bacon and pork prices caused a virus that kills pigs and higher feed costs.” They say prices will continue to rise in 2015.
Coffee : A drought in Brazil has led to higher prices for many popular coffee brands. And Deal News says it doesn’t look like it will slow down anytime soon. «Kraft Foods recently announced increase of about 9% in prices on disposable packaging K-Cup Maxwell House, Yuban, Gevalia and McCafe».
