“If You Learn to Play the Piano, You Don’t Give up Because You Missed a Note.”

The beginning of the new year is a great time for solving new problems, solutions and goals, but there will be mistakes along the way. On the road to success, it’s important to remind yourself that making a mistake isn’t a reason to refuse, but a reason to keep going.

The urge to do what you are trying to do – big or small – takes fuel. Rather than letting mistakes push you back, psychologist and writer John Norcross recommends making them fuel:

“If you learn to play the piano, you don’t give up because you miss a note. It’s not whether you slip, but how you react to a slip. “

Relax a little and remember that everything takes time and hard work. Hear the sound of your “missed note” and let it push you forward. You missed this note yesterday, but that doesn’t mean you’ll miss it today.
