If You Haven’t Deleted Your Unroll.Me Account Yet, Do so Now

These results led to an investigation and subsequent lawsuit by the FTC, which finally reached a settlement this week . Part of the settlement requires Unroll.me to delete all stored user information and also requires the company to be more transparent about accessing, collecting and selling any data it collects in the future.
Although your previously saved data will be deleted from Unroll.me’s servers, we think you should take an extra step: check if you have ever shared your Gmail account with Unroll.me, and if so, remove access.
Gmail and other email services now provide similar (unaffected) methods for unsubscribing from emails. More importantly, you must resist the urge to outsource your entire inbox to a third-party service unless you have a compelling reason to do so (and trust that they, whatever companies you provide access to your email, will not transfer those data. with other companies or use it to sell you more products).
Whether you have stayed on Unroll.me all this time or have an old account that is no longer in use, the recent FTC agreement is a good excuse to delete your account and revoke Unroll.me’s access to your Gmail. We’ll show you how to do this using the steps originally outlined by tech blogger and user interface designer Per Axbom.
Delete your Unroll.me account
- To delete your Unroll.me account, log into the system on the main page of the service.
- Click the Hamburger icon in your account name, then click Settings.
- Scroll down and click “Delete my account”.
- You will receive a pop-up asking if you really want to delete your account and provide a reason for leaving, although this is optional. Click “Delete my account” to make this final.
Despite deleting your account, Unroll.me may technically have access to your Gmail, in which case you will have to manually delete it to complete this process.
- Open accounts.google.com and sign in with your Google account if you haven’t already.
- Click “Security” in the side menu.
- Scroll down and click on “Manage Third-Party Access”.
- Scroll down until you find Unroll.me in the list of apps. Click to select it, and then click Remove Access.
