How to Get Samuel L. Jackson on Your Amazon Echo for Free
I don’t need more than good old Alexa in my Echo, but if you’d rather hang out with Samuel L. Jackson , Gordon Ramsay, or Pikachu (to name a few celebrity voices), you have options. Jackson is my favorite of them all, but it’s not free: it costs $ 0.99 to download the skill right now, and if you take your time it will grow to a whopping $ 4.99.
However, with one little trick, you can include Jules Winnfield in your echo at a low cost for free. I suspect many of you have already guessed this, so this tiny trick is for everyone else. Here it is.
Since Samuel L. Jackson’s skill is technically a digital purchase on Amazon, there is a very easy way to get a quick $ 1 credit on Amazon that you can then use to acquire that Alexa skill. If you are an Amazon Prime member , the next time you buy something on Amazon, which is probably “coming soon”, select the “ No Expedited Delivery ” option. You’ll have to wait a few extra days for your stuff – a little patience never hurts – and you’ll end up with a huge dollar to spend on various digital items. As Amazon describes:
“Choose FREE Amazon Day Shipping for this order and we’ll automatically add a $ 1 digital reward (applicable to select eBooks, digital music, videos and apps) to your account after your order is submitted. You can use this reward by logging into Amazon.com or browsing your smartphone, tablet, e-book, TV, or streaming device. Search the Amazon Appstore for an ebook, Prime Video, Digital Music, or app you want to purchase and we’ll automatically apply a reward at checkout. Customers must be in the United States to redeem the bonus. “
I can’t think of a better reward for delaying the next batch of shower gel than what Samuel L. Jackson told me to fuck you when I ask for the last prediction. I’m kidding, but especially if you choose the explicit version of this skill, it should at least be installed and called up in front of your friends and loved ones at your holiday gathering. At least that’s my plan; a little shock and awe always make these meetings more fun.
