You Need an Electronic Toilet Popular in Japan
Everybody poops. But not everyone poops the same way.
In Japan, for example, doing business on a porcelain throne is a completely new experience. Imagine the following scene:
You rush into the bathroom filled with Chipotle and regret. The toilet seat rises automatically as you approach. When you sit, your back does not meet the icy grip of the White Walker, but a warm and cozy toilet seat. The deodorant is sprayed into the bowl, preparing to mask future odors. Having relieved yourself, you press a button on the remote control next to you. The bidet washes the back of the body and then quickly blows dry. You wash your hands at the sink when the toilet automatically flushes and you return to your life feeling happier, cleaner, and noticeably lighter than before.
This luxurious bathroom is not a fantasy. This is a reality in Japan thanks to the proliferation of high-tech electronic toilets. By comparison, American bathrooms look like they haven’t improved since the Stone Age.
In the video above, Lifehacker staff writer Nick Douglas visited the Tokyo showroom of TOTO, one of Japan’s largest e-toilet manufacturers, to learn more about these amazing toilets, why they are so popular, and what it will require for the West. catch up.
