Ask Alexa to Help You Pronounce Difficult Words
We all have one word (or a thousand) that no matter how hard we try, we cannot remember how to spell it correctly. If you have an Amazon Alexa device at home, the virtual assistant can help you figure it out.
By default, Alexa has a built-in dictionary that lets you spell words, provided you can pronounce them relatively correctly.
For example, you might ask Alexa how to write something like onomatopoeia or cornucopia.
Unfortunately, before you try, she will not utter curses for you. You will have to search for them yourself.
Spelling comes back at the normal Alexa speech rate, which if you’re typing or writing can be a little fast if you’re just not trying to double-check your work.
As with other Alexa features; however, you can ask her to slow down if you need her.
It’s worth noting that when you ask her to slow it down, you are setting a new default speed for Alexa on your device in the future. After that, you will need to ask her to speed up again if you want her to speak at a normal speed in the future.
