2020 marks the start of a new year, which means that you’ve probably thought at least a little about the past year (and maybe the last 10) in the past week, and made a few decisions for the new year in the future. FutureMe is a tool that allows you to send yourself a note in the future to remind you of all the promises you made to yourself and maybe give you a little motivation for the future.
The idea behind this tool is pretty simple: all you have to do is write a note to yourself and then tell the site when you want the digital note to be sent.
The site has presets for 1, 3 and 5 years, but you can also set a specific date when your message will be delivered.
Messages come by email, so you need to choose a personal email address that you expect will still be used at the time of delivery. This means that while your work address might be where you receive most of your email right now, it might not be the best choice here.
As for what your post says, it could be anything. You may ask yourself if you finally achieved a certain goal, such as graduating from graduate school or writing this book, or you can send yourself a kind of diary entry reminding yourself of where you were today and what are your current aspirations for where the future you might be.
It’s all free, easy to send, and can literally be what you want in terms of the message.
