Use This Website to Stop Touching Your Damn Face With Your Hands With the Virus
I love simple little utilities that help me change my behavior for the better – Pomodoro; all those apps that remind you to drink water; And now the good old “Do Not Touch Your Face” dot com.
For those who are afraid of the Coronavirus or simply want to practice the best habits regarding any infectious disease, I recommend leaving the ” Do not touch your face ” browser tab pinned for now. Or, better yet, make it work on your child’s computer so that he stops touching his face with rough unwashed hands.
Here’s how it works: open a website and it will ask you to take a quick video of your face. Light.
He will then ask you to put (clean) hands on your face and shoot a second video. Twice as easy as it takes less time than the original video. Now, when you raise your dirty hands to your face to quickly pet or pet it, you’ll get a very obvious warning – and, if you’ve turned them on, a desktop notification.
Alerts persist as long as your tab stays in the background of your browser (assuming you haven’t paused it ).
I love this concept, but this site has two features worth mentioning. Firstly, since all this face training takes place directly in your browser, and not somewhere on the server, you will have to film your normal face and your face covered with your hands every time you restart your browser. … Annoying? Yes, but it’s definitely better than someone who has records of the faces of thousands of people somewhere on some server.
Secondly, it is imperfect. Sometimes I got a terrible warning when my hands never touched my face . I blame my somewhat lousy webcam and lighting. Whenever possible, make sure you are in a well-lit area during training so that the computer does not crash for no reason.
While I don’t see a lot of people using it forever, it’s still a fun way to break a bad habit. Do as I say, not what I do, right?
