Twitter’s New Pinned Lists Let You Opt Out of Promoted Tweets
It’s no secret that the Twitter Lists feature is a great way to capitalize on the chaos of internet strangers yelling at you all day, and the new update makes it easier to access your lists on the Twitter app for iOS or Android.
To get started, make sure you update your Twitter app to the latest version via the Google Play Store or Apple App Store – your choice. Launch the app, click on your image in the upper left corner and click on Lists.
From there, tap up to five lists that you want to “pin” to your Twitter home screen.
Once you’ve done that, click the back arrow in the upper left corner. You should now see your pinned lists at the top of the feed, and you can swipe left and right across the app to access them. (If you don’t see them, close the app, remove it from the list of recent apps on iOS or Android, and try starting Twitter again.)
That’s all! While this feature won’t fix Twitter or get it out of all the trouble – mute alone can actually do it – it’s a step in the right direction. As an added bonus, I find that these listings are chronological by default and do not contain annoying promoted tweets . That in itself is a good reason to fill your Twitter app with as many useful lists as possible.
