Get These Two (Actually) Free PlayStation 4 Games
How is your lag behind the quarantine games doing? If you’ve stayed at home in the past few weeks, chances are it needs an update, and Sony is offering two free PlayStation 4 games to all PS4 owners as part of its new Play At Home program.
Anyone with a PlayStation 4 can download Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for free , which includes the first three Uncharted games updated for PS4 and Journey from the PSN Store until May 5th. You also don’t need to participate in any special memberships or surveys to complete in order to receive them. Just turn on your PS4, go to the PSN store, download both of them and they’ll be yours forever.
If you are not currently using a PlayStation 4, you can also “buy” free games through your web browser:
Unlike the Sony PlayStation Plus membership, which gives you access to a library of games that is added every month as a subscriber, these games will never disappear from your library.
I personally haven’t played any of the Uncharted games, but the series is one of Sony’s most famous exclusive franchises, and getting the first three games in a more graphically impressive package sounds like a nice deal. I spent a lot of time on Journey and would highly recommend it. The puzzle adventure game is shorter, but the ambiance, decoration and music make it a must.
Be prepared for potentially longer than normal download times if you choose to receive these free gifts. The PlayStation Network is already known for its slow download speeds, so anyone who logs in and downloads both games at the same time is likely to put additional load on Sony’s servers. Even the Sony Play At Home official press release notes that this load time – and PSN downloads in general – will now be slower than usual.
