A Free Copy of Grand Theft Auto V? Yes Please
I’ve always been a fan of the weekly free games that you can get from the Epic Game Store, and have amassed a whole collection of games that I’m sure I’ll get my hands on someday. Epic today ditched what is arguably the best free deal to date: Grand Theft Auto V , that delightful, chaos-filled mess around the Los Angeles-like city of Los Santos.
You have until May 21st to “buy” the Premium Edition game, which gives you the standalone single-player version of the game, its popular online component, and the Criminal Enterprise starter pack – useful if you’re really going to give an online version on the go. (Personally, I find the single-player version of the game much more appealing.)
You may need to take some time to secure the download; Epic’s servers are currently being destroyed. of this letter. We can’t even download the Epic Game Store desktop app, let alone the Epic Games website :
I’d say that to say that a free copy of Grand Theft Auto V is a popular proposition would be a bit of an understatement. At least this server crash gives you enough time to brush up on some basic GTA strategies while you wait. Single player should be pretty easy to learn , but multiplayer can be incredibly frustrating at first. While you stand there trying to figure out things like making money and buying locations or fancy cars, you will most likely be hit and / or shot by someone much more prepared than you. This is the GTA way.
Do not forget; If you want a free copy of GTA V , you’ll also need to make sure your Epic Games account is set up for two-factor authentication. Epic Games has made this a must for free-to-play for the past two weeks or so, and this sort of “promotion” also ends on May 21st. I urge everyone who will be using the Epic Games store after this to leave 2FA enabled because it’s the best way to keep your account safe from hackers and other assholes. Don’t let them play all the free games you’ve worked so hard to earn.
