Support Black Owned Brands in This June Online Marketplace

Small businesses were particularly hard hit during the COVID-19 pandemic, including the Cynthia Daniels pandemic. As an event planner in Memphis, Daniels’ job quickly dried up. Then, in May, when she was unable to visit her mother in Atlanta, she decided to ship a package full of food she loved from local black-owned businesses. After that, what started with Daniels making referrals to other black-owned companies on social media turned into an online marketplace organization on June 19 (June 19).

Using her event planning skills, Daniels created a virtual bazaar where anyone can shop for 100 different small businesses and black-owned brands from 20 different cities across the country. This online event will take place today (June 19) from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm EST. To get a link to the market, please reply here .

“Black business is really at a disadvantage right now. Many do not have the usual shop windows, so they really depend on those exhibitions and festivals, ”added Daniels. “Juneteen Shop Black is a way to influence your dollars for businesses, many of which may not be surviving the pandemic.”
