Last Minute Gift Ideas If Pharmacy Is Your Only Outlet

So so so. The hour is close and you need a last minute present. It’s too late for even the fastest online delivery, and the most viable personal store options are already closed. All that’s left to do is come up with an excuse to get out of the house and run to your local 24-hour pharmacy.

By slipping in the gift arena, you won’t become the Grinch, Scrooge, or any other holiday caricature. Perhaps you’ve postponed the Secret Santa gift exchange, or you’ve been blessed by an unexpected guest who needed a gift so that he doesn’t feel left out. Fortunately, a last minute dash at the pharmacy doesn’t have to be as bad as it sounds. With a little creativity, you can quickly make an inexpensive gift for that special (or not so special) person.

I have carefully divided your gift options into three levels. The first is for donors who are willing to shell out a little extra money in a panic to create something personal. The second tier involves individual item purchases that are simply acceptable gift options. The third level is warning.

First level: author’s DIY collections

Just like a chef turns baskets of mysterious ingredients into a three-course lunch at Chopped , this gift category is all you need. In these do-it-yourself transactions, the amount is greater than the individual parts that should be available at most network pharmacies. Here are some of our theme collection ideas, but you can change them as you see fit.

  • Movie Night : Popcorn. Awesome popcorn fillings . Candy. Hot chocolate. Fluffy socks. A small piece of paper with your Netflix login. You can’t go wrong with a cozy movie show theme.
  • Pamper Yourself : Think spa day supplies like face masks, nail polish, and bath bombs. Add a candle to create a relaxing atmosphere.
  • Health and Wellness : Look there for gummies, supplements, protein powder, and anything else that catches your eye in the fitness room. Be careful: this can get expensive quickly. (Plus, at Lifehacker, we believe vitamins are mostly useless, even when personalized .)
  • Jetsetter: Choose from a variety of things needed for travel, including ear plugs and maybe even a pillow for neck (with a note on how to wear it correctly ).
  • The Techie : Head to the electronics section and go crazy with whatever gadgets available within your price range. Portable chargers and speakers are high quality gifts in themselves.

Level two: the thought is important

These items are not necessarily bad gifts, but many of them will easily be discovered as a last minute purchase. The success of gifts from second-tier pharmacies will depend on the charm of the giver and the cold factor of the recipient.

  • Gift cards
  • Candles
  • Cosmetic bags
  • Therapeutic massager
  • Jewelry
  • Mugs isolated
  • Calendars or planners
  • Laptops
  • Sets of coffee / tea
  • Wine and Corkscrew (depending on your state’s liquor laws)
  • Picture frames
  • Electronics such as in-ear headphones or portable chargers.

Third level: “Gifts” that will do more harm than good.

Hello my friend. All is lost, huh? Personally, I recommend a lie about an imaginary gift that didn’t arrive on time (supply chain problems, am I right?). If you are unsure if you can make a gift gag, be careful if you choose to gift someone from the list below.

  • Lottery tickets
  • Control bands
  • Batteries
  • Pregnancy test
  • Jerky beef
  • Laxatives
  • Toilet plunger
  • Laxative and toilet plunger tied with a bow

That’s all. If you have access to a pharmacy, you may be able to make a last-minute gift with moderate success.
