Use Your FSA Money to Donate Supplies to Street Medics
If you usually have cash in your flexible expense medical account (FSA) at the end of the year, you don’t have to wait until December to start spending. You can use it to buy first aid supplies now, and consider donating them to groups that organize medical support for protesters.
Before buying supplies, check with the group you want to donate to. Here is a list of street medical organizations , sorted by location. If you cannot find a specific medical group, reach out to the community and activist groups that are present at the protests; they can help you find the right people to talk to.
Ask your local organizers if they are collecting what they need and what they need. Some medical groups, such as the North Star Medical Team in Minneapolis, are already overwhelmed with donations and would prefer you to help in a different way.
In addition to donating to the street health group, you can also buy supplies for your first aid kit or share it with your friends. If you are unable to join the protest but want to support those who do, consider distributing first aid kits along with water and snacks .
