How to Meditate With Headspace on Snapchat
Spending hours on social media and browsing photos, videos, and stories is arguably the opposite of mindfulness, but now you can do multiple tasks at the same time, at least on Snapchat. The new Headspace Mini has six short meditations that you can do alone or with friends without ever leaving the app.
Snapchat just unveiled its Minis feature, which brings small versions of third-party apps like Headspace to the platform.
Headspace Mini is part of Snapchat’s broader wellness program launched earlier this year. In a statement sent to The Verge , a Snap spokesman said the meditation app is intended to “support the mental health and emotional well-being of Snapchat users.”
How to use Headspace on Snapchat
The easiest way to open Headspace Mini is to find it using the magnifying glass icon in the upper left corner of any home screen. Enter Headspace and select an app under Games & Mini Games.
You can also meditate with a friend. Just open the chat, tap the rocket ship icon next to the text box, switch to Minis in the bottom toolbar, and select Headspace.
After starting Mini, you can choose one of six meditations, each of which lasts 3-4 minutes. If you scroll down, you’ll also find stickers that you can share with your story to indicate your mood.
We wrote about Headspace as a separate service : the app offers a 10-session introductory meditation course for free, and a $ 12.99 / month subscription (or $ 69.99 if billed annually) unlocks a wide variety of other mindfulness series and one from meditation.
The advantage of Headspace Mini on Snapchat is that it’s free and you can sync it with your friends, but if you end up wanting more, there’s a whole app for that.
