Celebrate Saturday for Small Businesses by Shopping at Independent Retail Stores

Holiday shopping season, like everything else, looks a little different this year. Sure, there were still people on Black Friday sales in the malls yesterday at 6am, but nothing compared to years past. Today is Saturday for small businesses and a great opportunity to support independent retailers. Small businesses were particularly hard hit during the pandemic and could use our patronage more than ever.

Often times, when people think of a small business, they immediately think of those in their area. This is great – and also very important if you want them to stay open. But thanks to the magic of the Internet, we now have access to small businesses across the country where we can shop for items not available in our area without having to rely on large corporate retailers. Not sure where to start? Here are a few of the many small businesses to support today (as well as the rest of the year):

SHIMA from Navaholand

Navajo- owned and operated SHIMA, Navajo-based, produces high quality handcrafted soaps, body products and wellness products using traditional methods.

Tenement museum
