Use This Hack to Get Pixel’s AI-Powered Dictation Feature on Any Android Phone.

Google’s AI-powered dictation feature, Rambler , seems genuinely useful. Essentially, Rambler is similar to your phone’s existing dictation tool, only much smarter. It can automatically edit your speech, turning it into a better end product. It will remove filler words like “uh” and “ah,” correct grammar, and understand your original meaning (for example, if you say “we need to choose whole milk… meaning oat milk,” Rambler will type “we need to choose oat milk”).

This is exactly the kind of feature most of us would love to have on our phones, but there’s a problem: despite Google developing the Android operating system, it decided to make Rambler exclusive to the Pixel 11. So, if you have a non-Pixel phone, like a Samsung or Motorola, you’re out of luck unless you want to upgrade to one of Google’s smartphones—or, as it turns out, download a third-party tool instead.

PixelBoard adds Rambler to any Android device.

As reported by Android Authority , developer Akshay Kadam modified the Google Gboard app and uploaded it to GitHub under the name PixelBoard. Kadam advertises PixelBoard as an “advanced Gboard modification” with features found in the Pixel 11 series, including AI-powered writing tools and, most importantly, Rambler.

According to Kadam’s GitHub page, PixelBoard works alongside the Gboard app on your phone. You don’t need to replace or uninstall the existing app, and you don’t need to root your Android device. However, it’s an unofficial port, requiring installation on your Android device via third-party sources. Although the tool is hosted on a public GitHub page, proceed with caution if you decide to try it.

If you do, Kadam’s GitHub page has detailed instructions for sideloading the app onto your phone. It looks like you have three options: you can download PixelBoard directly from GitHub and then install it from your phone’s notification bar or file manager; if you’re a developer, you can install the app by connecting your phone via USB with USB debugging enabled; and finally, you can patch the stock Gboard APK using Morphe Manager. (Kadam recommends the first method.)

What do you think at the moment?

After installing PixelBoard on your phone, go to Settings > System > Languages & Input > On-Screen Keyboard (or Manage Keyboards ), then enable PixelBoard. Tap the keyboard switcher or the space bar, then select PixelBoard as your input method. To use Rambler, select “Rambler Dictation” on this settings page, select “Voice Input,” then under “Dictation Type,” switch from “Standard” to “Rambler.”

Hopefully, Google will add Rambler to more phones over time. In the meantime, you can use PixelBoard to implement this feature on your device.
