This DeWalt Drill and Driver Set Is Still 38% Off After Prime Day.
At Lifehacker, we absolutely adore household power tools: check out these roundups of the best cordless power tools on Amazon and Home Depot that were on sale during the October Prime Day sale to see what I’m talking about. I’ve been browsing tools since the sale began, and I’m definitely picking up this DeWalt 20V MAX cordless drill and impact driver set while it’s on sale for $149 (38% off).
I’m tired of my corded drill. It seemed logical when I bought it 15 years ago, but batteries have become much more compact and powerful, so you don’t lose the weight of a corded drill just because you’re using batteries. Both the drill and impact driver in this DeWalt kit run on 20V lithium-ion batteries, which weigh about 340 grams and are roughly the size of a deck of playing cards. The result is small, maneuverable tools (the drill weighs 1.6 kg, and the impact driver 1.1 kg) that can fix a bookcase without making you worry about where the outlet is.
Other improvements over my 15-year-old drill include LED work light—a simple upgrade that makes a big difference—and the ability to insert drill bits with one hand. The price is also very attractive: $149, 38% off the list price.
