Bose’s New Dolby Atmos-Enabled Soundbar Is on Sale for $255 As Part of Its Prime Day Deal in October.

As Amazon’s October Prime Day sale draws to a close, you can still find the Bose Lifestyle Ultra soundbar for $844.99 (originally $1,099), its lowest price yet, according to price-tracking sites . It replaces the Smart Ultra soundbar in the Bose lineup and takes center stage in the new Lifestyle Ultra series, with matching speakers and a subwoofer if you eventually want to build a larger system. On its own, however, it’s a fairly hefty soundbar at 43.3 inches wide and weighs 14.3 pounds, though its 2.6-inch height makes it relatively compact.
Inside, nine speakers are arranged in a 5.0.2-channel configuration, including a center tweeter for dialogue and two upward-firing speakers for Dolby Atmos height effects. The result is clear, detailed sound with a convincing sense of space. However, while the bass is solid, it doesn’t quite match the overall sound, and PCMag’s review recommends adding a subwoofer. Until then, the Bose app offers plenty of customization options, including a three-band equalizer for boosting bass and separate level controls for the center, height, and rear channels, so you can emphasize vocals or tailor the Atmos effect to your room.
Connectivity options include one HDMI eARC port, Ethernet, a subwoofer output, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.3, but lacks pass-through for a second HDMI device and a 3.5mm audio input. Additionally, there’s no DTS support, and the device can’t pair with Bose headphones for private listening. The discount will be most beneficial to those who already own Bose speakers or are planning to build a full system around them, while those seeking deeper bass without a subwoofer might be better off with the Sonos Arc Ultra, also discounted for $899, though it shares the same limitations: one HDMI port and no DTS.
