Sony’s Flagship WH-1000XM6 Headphones Are on Sale at Their Lowest Price Ever During Prime Big Deal Days.
Amazon’s October Prime Day sale is in full swing, and the price of the Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones has dropped from $459.99 to $378, which is about $82 less than Sony’s current flagship model and the lowest price to date, according to price tracking sites . Released in 2025, the XM6s build on an already strong formula, offering improved noise cancellation, more microphones, and extensive music control. Our Shopping Editor, Daniel, called them the best over-ear headphones he tested in 2025 (and they likely still hold that title), praising both the sound quality and the noise cancellation.
Noise cancellation is enhanced by one of Sony’s most significant improvements to the XM6—increasing the number of microphones from eight in the XM5 to twelve. These microphones power active noise cancellation, Ambient Sound mode, and Adaptive Sound Control, allowing the headphones to respond to their surroundings and automatically adjust the level of external noise based on changes in the environment. Sony’s companion app also offers a wealth of settings, including a customizable equalizer for fine-tuning the sound to your preferences. You can even see which Bluetooth codec is currently being used—the XM6 support LDAC, along with AAC, SBC, and LC3.
Battery life is another reason the XM6s are well-suited for everyday use: they last up to 30 hours with active noise cancellation enabled and up to 40 hours with it disabled, though actual battery life will vary depending on usage. This should comfortably last for several days of commuting or business trips, as well as most long-haul flights. Sony also retained the 3.5mm headphone jack for times when a wired connection is more practical, such as connecting to an in-flight entertainment system or an older audio device.
