The New Apple Watch Series 12 Is Now Available for Purchase As Part of the Prime Day Sale in October.
You hardly expect to see Apple’s latest and greatest products on sale at a discount, especially just weeks after their initial release. While Prime Day this October featured a slew of discounts on Apple products , including some Apple Watch models, I certainly wouldn’t have predicted the price of Apple’s newest flagship would drop. And yet, here we are. The Apple Watch Series 12 starts at $399 . But during October’s Prime Day, Apple is offering a $50 discount. With the discount, the price now starts at $349—a fantastic price for a watch with all the latest Apple wearable features.
The Apple Watch Series 12 features Apple’s latest wearable chip, the S11. This chip powers features like Siri AI and Apple Intelligence, as well as the new “Audio Intelligence” feature, which can provide a text summary of the last 15 seconds of a conversation —a feature that has generated some controversy . It also features a new heart rate sensor that can check your heart rate every five seconds, or 20 times per minute. This model offers up to 24 hours of battery life on a single charge, and its Ceramic Shield 2 display is designed to resist more scratches and cracks than previous Apple Watch models in this category. Lifehacker’s senior health editor, Beth Skwarecki, believes the Series 12 is worth the initial suggested retail price , so if you’ve been interested in this model, it’s the obvious choice.
The only caveat is that the Series 12 isn’t the only discounted Apple Watch model worth considering during the October Prime Day sale. While the Apple Watch Ultra 4 isn’t discounted, the Apple Watch SE 3 is . It’s not exactly a “new” watch, but it’s the best Apple watch for most people. You won’t get any of the Series 12’s perks, but you do get a powerful S10 chip, Apple’s standard heart rate monitor, sleep and exercise tracking, and the ability to send and receive text messages. There’s a lot of overlap with fitness and health, and if you choose the cellular model, you’ll connect to the same 5G network as the Series 12 with cellular. While $349 is a great starting price for the Series 12, the SE 3 starts at $199 during the October Prime Day sale. That’s hard to beat.
