What You Need to Know About Walmart’s Fall Sale
Amazon Prime Big Deal Days —a sort of fall equivalent to October’s Prime Day—is typically one of the biggest sales of the fall, and each year it prompts other retailers, including Walmart, to follow suit with their own discounts and promotions. After Amazon announced the date of its sale next month, Walmart launched a countdown for its own Prime Day-style sale (there’s literally a countdown timer on the website’s homepage). The promotion is simply called “Fall Deals,” and there’s good news for those hesitant about paying a subscription to take advantage of the sale—it’s free for everyone.
What are Walmart’s fall sales?
Walmart’s fall sales are a response to Amazon’s October Prime Day sales, officially known as Prime Big Deal Days. These sales, both in-store and online, offer discounts on most Walmart products (with the possible exception of groceries). The sale runs annually in the spring, summer, fall, and winter, coinciding with Prime Day.
When do Walmart’s fall sales start?
Walmart’s Fall Sale begins at midnight ET on October 5th and runs through October 11th. Walmart+ members typically get a pre-sale period to take advantage of the discounts before anyone else (last year, it lasted five hours).
Do I need to be a Walmart+ member to shop during Walmart Deals?
No. But if you’re a Walmart+ member, you’ll get early access to the sale. Walmart hasn’t officially announced the date of this year’s sale yet, and I’ll update this article as soon as it becomes available. In the lead-up to Amazon’s October Prime Day sale, you can always expect major retailers to host their own competitive sales. So far, Target has announced its own sale, but we haven’t heard anything from Best Buy yet. As in previous years, these sales typically start earlier, overlap, and last longer than October’s Prime Day. Each retailer typically has several deals that are better than Amazon’s Prime Day, so it’s worth comparing prices if you’re looking for a specific item.
