10 TV Shows Like Lucy You Should Watch Next

The latest project from Reese Witherspoon’s production company, Hello Sunshine, is another smash hit: the crime thriller Lucky, based on Marissa Stapley’s bestselling novel, has been a fixture in the Apple TV top 10 since its release. Anya Taylor-Joy plays Luciana “Lucky” Armstrong, a con artist forced to go on the run after a robbery goes awry. And we love adventures—especially when they spiral out of control. When you’re done watching this series and want more, here’s what to watch next.

Good Girls (2018–2021)

Beth, Ruby, and Annie (Christina Hendricks, Retta, and Mae Whitman, respectively) are three mothers in suburban Michigan, all struggling financially. They’re no criminal masterminds, so they hatch a plan to rob a local grocery store to solve the problem—a store that turns out to be a front for a money-laundering operation. They steal $500,000, but the gang leader whose money they unknowingly stole wants it back, and the store manager, having spotted one of their tattoos, threatens to blackmail them. It’s definitely not a sitcom, but it’s a solid comedy-drama with a talented cast whose characters become increasingly embroiled in the drama over four seasons.Watch Good Girls on Netflix .

“Poker Face” (2023–2025)

Poker Face , created by Knives Out writer-director Rian Johnson and starring Natasha Lyonne, pays homage to Columbo in a detective anthology format: former waitress Charlie Kale, on the run from a ruthless casino magnate, travels the back roads of North America, encountering murders almost everywhere. Luckily, Charlie has an uncanny ability to spot lies, as well as a very useful penchant for moonlighting. As in Columbo, viewers are given all the details of the murder right away, so the mystery is not so much who the killer is , but how Charlie will solve it ? Lyonne’s unassuming, straightforward personality is perfect for the role, and she meshes beautifully with a top-notch cast of guest stars. She’s not so much a con artist as, like Lucky, on the run from criminals and the law at the same time. Watch Poker Face on Peacock.

Confidence Queen (2025)

She’s a con artist with a heart of gold (more or less), so it’s easy to relax and have fun with this South Korean series. Yoon Yi-ran (Park Min-young) leads a team of three confident con artists who exclusively prey on other criminals and crooked businessmen. Early in the series, everything begins to unravel: Yi-ran’s childhood friend, Goo-ho, wants to quit, no longer convinced he’s cut out for a life of crime. When the team disbands, the more experienced James strikes out on his own—only to later emerge nearly beaten to death by a prominent corporate CEO, publicly known for his philanthropy but secretly a brutal loan shark. And so, Yi-ran’s plans are no longer just a lark: she thirsts for justice, pursuing it in style. Watch “Confidence Queen” on Prime Video.

Barracuda Queens (2023–)

Rob the rich and give to… the rich? That’s the premise of this Swedish series, which follows four predominantly wealthy, privileged, and generally unsympathetic young women who, after a night of partying, discover they’ve racked up massive debts for which their parents won’t be held responsible. After concocting a plan to rob the home of another very wealthy family in the neighborhood, they nearly get caught before circumstances force them to commit the theft not only to cover up their own misdeeds but also to exact revenge on some scumbags who wronged them. The series makes several clever decisions that set it apart from other heist dramas: it’s unclear whether we’re actually supposed to root for these women, even if their victims deserve it, and, likewise, they’re not particularly good at what they do. These aren’t seasoned criminals, so the likelihood that they’ll screw up and get caught is almost 100%.Watch “Barracuda Queens” on Netflix .

Theft (2026)

Sophie Turner plays Zara Dunn, an employee at a major London pension fund management company handling transactions (which is apparently her job title). It all sounds terribly boring, but not for long: a group of well-trained and armed men take office workers hostage and orchestrate transactions worth approximately £4 billion—almost all of the company’s money. During the heist, Zara interacts with the company’s bank to confirm the transactions, or at least that’s what it seems. When her colleagues discuss the possibility of an inside job at the end of the first episode, Zara’s rather mischievous smile might well lead you to believe she knows much more than she’s letting on. Queen of the South (2016–2021)

Loosely based on true events, Queen of the South tells the story of Teresa Mendoza, played by Alice Braga. We meet her as the head of a vast drug empire, then see a flashback showing her rise (think Narcos ). A poor girl from Sinaloa, Mexico, becomes friends with a drug dealer who runs afoul of his bosses. Teresa flees the country and embarks on a thrilling journey to the top of her own criminal empire. Based on a telenovela (which, in turn, is based on a documentary), the tone is quite unusual: Teresa is as smart as she is good at fighting, and the series emphasizes her charisma and intelligence alongside her ability to navigate difficult situations. The action scenes feel a bit silly at first, but once the show finds its balance, it becomes incredibly gripping. Buy Queen of the South on Prime Video.

Inventing Anna (2022)

Current TV star Shonda Rhimes brings us this crime drama about Anna Sorokin, aka Anna Delvey, a Russian émigré who posed as a wealthy German heiress and ultimately swindled New York’s elite out of hundreds of thousands of dollars (because rich people, after all, are at least as stupid as everyone else). Julia Garner plays the con artist with a brilliantly nutty accent and a matching level of dedication. The series’ nonlinear narrative unravels the elements of the scam in a way that highlights how willing people were to believe her, even when it began to seem downright silly.Watch Inventing Anna on Netflix .

Big Little Lies (2017–)

These wealthy ladies are going through hard times, and just because they have nice houses and nice clothes doesn’t mean they don’t get the spotlight. At the start of the series, five women (played by Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Zoë Kravitz) find themselves embroiled in a murder investigation tied to a school fundraiser that threatens to expose their entire personal lives—and secrets abound. Toxic relationships come to light, while others become toxic under pressure. In their social class, any threat to the status quo can lead to major drama. This series is part crime drama, part dark comedy, part psychological thriller, and if “Lucky” is the latest hit from Reese Witherspoon’s production company, Hello Sunshine, then this is the first. Killing Eve (2018–2022)

Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer star as the two leads in the hit television series, which unfolds a gripping game of cat and mouse as their relationship constantly shifts. Oh plays Eve Polastri, a bored MI5 analyst who becomes obsessed with finding the brutal and infamous assassin known only as Villanelle. At first, it’s a professional obsession, but it then develops into a personal one, and soon it becomes clear that the attraction is mutual. It’s more of a spy drama than a crime thriller, but the complex relationship between these two women on opposite (but constantly shifting) sides of the law is captivating.
