Google releases both Gemini and Docs, so it’s no surprise that you’ll find many of the former’s features in the latter. Gemini has extensive integration with Google Docs, including reading text aloud , searching and summarizing documents in Google Drive , and an in-app “Gemini dashboard” for suggestions at any time. How the new Google Docs features work in Gemini

According to Google, Gemini offers three new features that Workspace users can take advantage of. First, users can create infographics or diagrams that summarize the content of a document. You can ask Gemini to do things like “add a diagram that explains the sentence at the beginning of this document” or “create an infographic that visually summarizes the content of the document.” Google claims that Gemini will use the document’s context to create these graphics, so they should reflect what you’ve written in your document —barring any weird hallucinations, of course .

Additionally, Gemini can “enhance existing visual elements.” You can ask Gemini to adjust images in your document, for example, “change the aspect ratio of this image to 4:3” or “match the image style to other images in this document.” Finally, you can also ask Gemini to create or edit multiple images simultaneously. You can ask the AI ​​to create infographics for each section of your document or update all images at once.

The new Google Docs features won’t be available to all users. They’re exclusively for Workspace users, including Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers.
