These “Nothing” Noise-Canceling Headphones Are Currently on Sale for $129.
If the futuristic design of the Nothing over-ear headphones isn’t your thing, the brand’s wireless in-ear headphones might be for you. A more premium version of the earlier Nothing Ear headphones, they come with an improved charging case and are a great choice for those who enjoy headphones with powerful bass—especially considering the Nothing Ear (3) wireless headphones are currently on sale for $129 (originally $149).
The headphones are comfortable to wear and feature more metal beneath the clear plastic than their predecessors, giving them an even more sophisticated, high-tech look. Users can control them by squeezing the stems instead of pressing buttons: a single squeeze plays or pauses audio and answers or ends phone calls, while double and triple squeezes skip forward and backward, respectively.
Deep bass is delivered by 12mm dynamic drivers with a frequency range of 20Hz to 40kHz. The sound is more detailed than previous models, and in Nothing’s Balanced mode, it delivers deep, powerful bass. For Nothing phone users, pairing the headphones allows you to interact with ChatGPT using voice commands. The headphones are IP54-rated, making them suitable for workouts and light rain. The charger also has the same rating, which is rare.
While battery life has improved slightly compared to the previous generation, it still leaves much to be desired: up to 5.5 hours of continuous playback with active noise cancellation enabled and up to 22 hours with the charging case. A quick charge allows for up to 10 hours of playback in just 10 minutes. Active noise cancellation is satisfactory, blocking up to 45 dB, but, according to PCMag , it’s inferior to some headphones in a similar price range.
If you prioritize a cool, stylish look, a comfortable fit, adequate noise cancellation, and powerful, bass-rich sound, the Nothing Ear (3) wireless earbuds are a great choice, as long as you don’t need the ultra-long battery life without the case. If you’re willing to consider a less stylish option but want best-in-class noise cancellation, the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro earbuds may be a better, albeit more expensive, choice.
