It’s Now Much Cheaper to Try Gemini Spark, Google’s Intelligent Agent.
Google Gemini’s built-in AI agent, Gemini Spark, is now available for testing in the US at a significantly lower price. Previously, Gemini Spark was exclusive to Google’s AI Ultra plan , which costs $100-$200 per month. The company is now adding this agent-based AI to its AI Pro plan , which costs $20 per month. (This change is currently only in the US.)
When Gemini Spark was announced at Google I/O 2026 , its features seemed potentially useful, but the barrier to entry was too high for most users. This appears to be changing, as Google has slashed the price by a whopping 90%. It’s not yet available on the $5/month AI Plus plan or the free plan, but this may change in the future—though it’s likely that using Gemini Spark on cheaper plans could mean reaching usage limits sooner.
What is Gemini Spark?
Google Gemini is a chatbot and voice assistant that answers your questions, creates text, media files, and even entire apps. Gemini Spark brings these capabilities to your Google account and performs the necessary actions for you.
Think of Gemini Spark as a personal AI assistant that can access your email, calendar entries, photos, and other data in your Google account to perform tasks on your behalf. You can use Spark to bulk unsubscribe from emails, book flights, send reminders to clients, colleagues, or family members, schedule appointments, and much more.
However, a review of Gemini Spark published on our sister site PC Mag emphasizes that its features overlap significantly with Gemini’s. PC Mag called Spark the best AI agent to date, but that doesn’t mean it’s perfect.
Does Gemini Spark respect your privacy?
For those even slightly concerned about privacy, using Gemini Spark will seem quite intrusive: you essentially have to grant it access to your entire computer so it can act on your behalf. Google understands this and has programmed the AI agent to ask for confirmation before performing certain actions. For example, if you ask the agent to find photos from a 2017 birthday party and email them to someone, Gemini Spark will show you the photos and ask for confirmation before actually sending the email. The same logic applies to deleting emails, sending messages, using saved credit cards to pay for reservations, and much more.
It’s worth remembering that artificial intelligence services have created serious problems for those who use these apps without due care . Gemini’s main advantage is access to all your Google account data, but if you grant it unlimited access and the AI agent makes a request error, you could end up with an incorrectly booked hotel, a flight to the wrong country, or other serious consequences.
