Samsung Announced Five New Products at the Galaxy Unpack Presentation.
Samsung’s Unpacked event, scheduled for July, has officially begun . Unlike the February event, which focused on Samsung’s flagship smartphones, this one focuses on the company’s new foldable devices and smartwatches. Today, Samsung announced a total of five new products, including one new Galaxy Z Flip, two new Galaxy Z Folds, and two new Galaxy Watch models. Here’s everything the company unveiled today at Unpacked:
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 introduces a new form factor.
This year, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 features a new form factor. Instead of the usual tall, book-shaped foldable phone (now called the Fold 8 Ultra), this foldable smartphone has a wider design, making it feel like a small tablet when unfolded. The Z Fold 8 measures just 9.7 mm thick when folded and 4.5 mm when unfolded. The phone is quite lightweight, weighing 201 g (7.09 oz); by comparison, the Galaxy S26 Ultra weighs 214 g (7.54 oz). It also has IP48 water and dust resistance.
When unfolded, the Z Fold 8 features a 7.6-inch display, while the outer screen measures 5.5 inches. Both displays use Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology, similar to that found on the Galaxy S26 series. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 5 processor for Galaxy devices, paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM depending on the storage size. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The Z Fold 8 has a 4,800mAh battery and supports 45W Super Fast Wired Charging and 20W Wireless Charging.
Unfortunately, the Fold 8 doesn’t support Qi2 , a faster wireless charging standard than Qi. However, there is a workaround: you can purchase one of Samsung’s official cases with built-in Qi2 magnets. Furthermore, like the Fold 7, the Fold 8 doesn’t support the S Pen. Regarding cameras, the Z Fold 8 has a dual camera system: a 50MP wide-angle lens and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The front-facing cameras are 10MP.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is the successor to the Z Fold 7.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is the successor to the Samsung Z Fold 7. Samsung has made this foldable smartphone even thinner than before, measuring 4.1 mm thick when unfolded, compared to 8.9 mm when folded. The Z Fold 8 Ultra is also slightly lighter, weighing 7.58 ounces (215 g) compared to 7.62 ounces (216 g) for the Fold 7.
The Z Fold 8 Ultra features an 8-inch main foldable display and a 6.5-inch outer display, both with Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology. The phone also has IP48 water and dust resistance. Like the Z Fold 8, the Z Fold 8 Ultra is powered by the Galaxy Snapdragon 8 Elite 5 processor with 12GB or 16GB of RAM. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. This year, the battery capacity has increased to 5,000mAh, and it supports both 45W Super Fast Wired Charging and 25W Wireless Charging. Like the Fold 8, the Z Fold 8 Ultra does not support Qi2 unless you purchase an official Samsung case with built-in magnets. It also does not support the S Pen stylus.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra retains the 200MP wide-angle and 10MP telephoto lenses from the Fold 7, but the ultra-wide camera has been upgraded to 50MP. Samsung has made virtually no changes to the Galaxy Z Flip 8.
If you like compact foldable smartphones, consider the Galaxy Z Flip 8, which received some minor upgrades over last year’s model. This year, Samsung returned to Qualcomm chips, and the Z Flip 8 also features the Galaxy’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with 12GB of RAM.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8’s screens remain the same; the FlexWindow outer screen still measures 4.1 inches, but Samsung has reduced the bezels around the display. Samsung has also added support for 16 different apps that can be used on the FlexWindow, allowing you to check their performance without opening the phone.
Samsung hasn’t changed the battery, retaining last year’s 4,300 mAh unit. The Z Flip 8 supports 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, and is IP48-rated for water and dust resistance. Cameras include a 50-megapixel main wide-angle lens, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10-megapixel front-facing camera. Storage options are limited to 256 GB and 512 GB. Samsung unveils the Galaxy Watch 9 series
Along with the new foldable devices, Samsung also unveiled the Galaxy Watch 9 series. The Galaxy Watch 9 comes in two sizes: a 40mm model with a 1.3-inch screen and a 44mm model with a 1.5-inch screen. Each model boasts a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits.
The watch is powered by a Qualcomm SW6100 chip with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and can withstand pressure up to 5 atmospheres (5 atmospheres). The smaller model has a 390 mAh battery, while the larger one has a 445 mAh battery, and both models support fast charging.
