The Top 10 Series Currently Available, According to Streaming Services.

In June, popular series dominated streaming service ratings, ranging from dark thrillers and anarchic animated series to action-packed comedies. From the mystical shores of Widow’s Cove to the world-class comedic performances of “Seasons,” there’s something for everyone. Here are the most popular series of June, according to JustWatch .
Widow’s Bay
This Apple TV series has received near-unanimous acclaim from critics and audiences alike. It’s a rare horror comedy that manages to be genuinely scary and genuinely funny. In the island town of Widow’s Cove, virtually everything is haunted, cursed, and riddled with unspeakable evil, but Mayor Tom Loftis (Matthew Rhys) still desperately wants to attract tourists to the island. Mayor Tom is so committed to his vision of Widow’s Cove as the next Martha’s Vineyard that he ignores the sea witches, mist monsters, and ghosts of serial killers that surround him. The magnificent Stephen Root plays Wike, an old man who constantly reminds everyone that time is short and everyone is doomed. Watch Widow’s Cove on Apple TV+ .
Spider-Noir
Nicolas Cage plays Spider-Man (sort of) in this superhero story set in the stylized world of classic film noir. In an alternate universe of 1930s New York City, Ben Reilly (Cage) is a world-weary private detective who once secretly brought order to the city under his alter ego, Spider-Man. After a personal tragedy, Reilly took off his mask, deciding to drown his memories in cheap whiskey. But when his investigation uncovers a vast political conspiracy, he’s forced to confront his past and become Spider-Man again. To enhance the classic Hollywood atmosphere, the series is available in both color and black-and-white. Watch Spider-Man: Noir on Prime Video .
FROM
The residents of the unnamed town at the center of the series “Iz…” are down on their luck. If it’s not the worms crawling under their skin, it’s the mysterious Man in Yellow, who steals people’s souls. In the fourth season of this gripping series from the executive producers of ” Lost,” the survivors are pushed to the limits of their abilities as the veil between the strange town and the real world thins. Watch “Iz…” on MGM+.
Cape Fear
Executive produced by Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese, Cape Fear is a 10-episode adaptation of the classic novel, previously adapted into two acclaimed films. In this expanded version, Amy Adams plays Anna Bowden, the lawyer who unsuccessfully defended murder suspect Max Cady 17 years ago. It turns out he was innocent, and Cady has had nearly two decades to plot revenge on the woman he blames for sending him to prison. Javier Bardem brings a suspenseful energy to the role of Cady, previously played by Robert Mitchum, Robert De Niro, and Sideshow Bob. If you enjoy slowly building tension, you’ll love Cape Fear. Districts
“Boroughs” is a fictionalized version of one of those Florida mega-retirement communities, like “The Villages.” Alfred Molina plays Sam, a grieving widower and newcomer unimpressed by the community. The wizened residents of “Boroughs” spend their days partying and/or awaiting grandchildren’s visits, but their golden years are interrupted by a supernatural threat, so Sam gathers a posse of grandmothers and white-haired old men and sets out to destroy Evil like it’s an early breakfast at Denny’s. “Boroughs” was executive produced by the Duffer brothers, so imagine ” Stranger Things ,” but with old people. Sadly, the series has been canceled, but the first season ends on a relatively satisfying note. Watch “Boroughs” on Netflix.
I will find you
Like Max Cady in Cape Fear, the protagonist of I Will Find You is imprisoned for a murder he didn’t commit. But unlike Max Cady, David Burrows (Sam Worthington) isn’t out to kill his lawyer. He’s been accused of murdering his own son, and after seeing evidence that the boy is alive, he escapes from prison to find his child. It’s a modern take on The Fugitive : hunted by the authorities, David must uncover a complex conspiracy to clear his name and bring his child home. I Will Find You is the perfect summer thriller. Watch I Will Find You on Netflix .
Off-campus
Hockey players are having their moment—first on the acclaimed series “Heated Rivalry,” and now on “Off Campus.” This college soap opera is based on Elle Kennedy’s best-selling book series. Set at the fictional Briar Academy, ” Off Campus” explores the heartbreak, romance, and drama between the college’s top hockey players and the women who love them. The first season follows the “opposites attract” romance between Hannah (Ella Bright), a sarcastic music major, and Garrett (Belmont Cameli), the arrogant captain of the Briar University hockey team. Watch “Off Campus” on Prime Video .
Rick and Morty
We’re nine seasons into Rick and Morty , and by this point, you’re either on the bus or off it. In this case, the bus is the chaotic, multiverse-traveling animated adventures of a sociopathic scientist and his chronically anxious grandson, as they battle cosmic horrors and navigate dysfunctional family dynamics. It’s an uncompromisingly weird, cynical, and restless series, and the latest season proves Rick and Morty’s portal gun still has plenty of fuel left. Watch Rick and Morty on Hulu and Max .
Maximum pleasure guaranteed
In Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, Tatiana Maslany plays Paula, a divorced single mother fighting for custody of her child. Her secret passion is an online relationship with webcam model Trevor, played by Brandon Flynn. But something goes wrong when someone assaults Trevor on camera and then starts sending Paula ransom notes. Has she really witnessed a crime? Is an online gigolo scamming her? Or is something even darker going on? If you’re looking to relive the twists and turns of ’90s erotic thrillers, but with a dose of cynical comedy and modern paranoia, then Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed is for you. Watch Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed on Apple TV+.
Four seasons
If you’re craving a quality comedy series with a large cast, don’t miss “Seasons.” This reboot of Alan Alda’s classic 1981 film, directed by and starring Tina Fey, features stars like Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, Will Forte, Kerri Kenney-Silver, and Marco Calvani. The setting: three couples who have vacationed together for decades find their getaways disrupted by divorce. “Seasons” is a funny yet honest exploration of grief, aging, and the complexities of adult friendship.
