One of the easiest ways to improve your TV’s sound quality is to stop relying on built-in speakers, especially if you regularly have trouble hearing dialogue. The Samsung HW-Q800H TV is designed with this in mind, and it’s currently priced at $727.99, down from its regular price of $1,097.99—the lowest price yet, according to price tracking sites . It’s also one of the best home theater deals we found during Prime Day (we’re tracking more deals and offering buying advice in our Prime Day 2026 roundup).
Its 5.1.2-channel configuration consists of a main soundbar and a wireless subwoofer. In practice, this means you get separate channels for dialogue, left and right audio channels, surround and height effects, and extra bass from the subwoofer. More importantly, Samsung includes a dedicated center channel and two separate dialogue enhancement modes, making conversations more intelligible while watching movies, sports broadcasts, and TV shows. Samsung’s new Sound Elevation feature also uses a similar approach, attempting to elevate dialogue so it sounds more natural and connected to the action onscreen. And if you have a compatible Samsung TV , the soundbar can work in conjunction with the TV’s built-in speakers thanks to Samsung’s Q-Symphony feature, creating a wider soundstage without the need for additional equipment.
The biggest drawback is the lack of surround sound: although the HW-Q800H supports Dolby Atmos and wireless Atmos connectivity with compatible Samsung TVs, it doesn’t include dedicated rear speakers. As a result, the sound remains more front-focused than systems that use dedicated rear speakers to create surround sound. Samsung includes room correction features that automatically adjust the sound to your space, but there’s another limitation worth noting: DTS audio formats are not supported. This isn’t likely to impact those who primarily watch content online, but it could be a consideration if you have a Blu-ray library. Still, it’s an update to Samsung’s 2026 HW-Q800 series, and while it doesn’t fundamentally change the formula, it remains a good option for those looking for richer TV sound without the need to add dedicated rear speakers throughout the room.
