Facebook Is Not Working.

If you tried to log into Facebook—or perhaps Instagram or Messenger—this morning and were unable to, you’re not alone. Many users are experiencing difficulties accessing some key Meta apps on Friday morning. Currently, Meta appears to be experiencing service issues, meaning Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger may be unavailable.
According to Downdetector (owned by Ziff Davis, Lifehacker’s parent company), as of 10:20 AM ET, Facebook had received over 200,000 user complaints—though I can’t currently access the Downdetector pages for either Facebook or Instagram. It’s possible that users are simultaneously attempting to report these sites, and Downdetector is unable to process the requests, or there’s a larger outage affecting Downdetector itself.
According to Meta’s official website , issues are only observed with Facebook Ads Manager. However, this site appears to only track Meta’s business-focused products, so Meta’s core products appear to be unlisted.
In any case, I’ll update this article with the latest news about Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. If this is typical for most outages, Meta will restore these services soon.
