All the New AI Features Coming to Apple Products in 2026.

In a sense, WWDC 2026 could be called the “Siri reveal.” After a two-year delay, Apple finally unveiled Siri AI and spent much of the event discussing all the improvements to the long-standing voice assistant. But while Siri stole the show on Monday, it wasn’t the only AI news Apple unveiled. With a compatible device, Apple’s upcoming updates will add a host of new AI features. Here’s what’s to come:
Safari now features intelligent tab management and smart notifications.
New Apple Intelligence features in Safari are designed to simplify web browsing. You can use AI to automatically organize all your cluttered tabs by topic. This system even dynamically updates as you browse. There’s also a new “Notify Me” feature that will monitor a webpage on your behalf. You can tell it to monitor something, like a price drop on an item you want to buy, and it will notify you when the webpage is updated.
There’s also a small coding feature that lets you create your own Safari extensions by telling the browser what you want to see. Apple provides several categories and quick recommendations, but you can also use natural language commands to create an extension that can customize a web page and add additional features to Safari.
Visual intelligence extends to your camera and your Mac.
This year, the Camera app will receive a major update : visual intelligence will be added as a new feature called “Siri.” Point the camera at any object or scene and ask Siri any questions you want. The assistant will then suggest appropriate actions based on what you’re looking at. For example, you can ask for nutritional information on a dish or split the bill with friends.
On a Mac, visual intelligence is integrated directly into the screenshot tool. After you’ve taken a screenshot, you can ask Siri about it. Siri will also automatically recognize the content and provide contextual suggestions. On an iPad, you can ask Siri about any element on the screen by simply tracing it with your Apple Pencil after taking a screenshot.
Photos get intelligent editing tools.
This year, Apple introduced several new AI-powered image editing tools. These include Expand, which expands the frame around a subject using generative AI fill, and Reframe, which lets you adjust the cropping of a photo as if you were taking the photo in real time. As you reframe, the edges blur, indicating where Apple Intelligence will fill in details using AI. The Clear feature also received some improvements thanks to Apple’s advanced AI models.
Image Playground also received its most extensive update to date, introducing the ability to create photorealistic images for the first time. You can upload photos from your library, edit them using text suggestions, and create images with different aspect ratios. This feature can also be used to create unique wallpapers or posters for contacts. All images will be marked with a SynthID watermark, making it easier to identify that they were created using AI.
The Apple Passwords app will help you recover compromised passwords.
Artificial intelligence is at its best when it takes over routine tasks. Password resets certainly fit this description. In updates this year, Apple integrated an AI-powered agent into the Passwords app that resets compromised passwords on your behalf. Simply give it permission, and it will redirect you to the appropriate website, enter your old password, reset it, and store the new password in the app.
Now creating shortcuts has become easy.
Shortcuts are great, but they require careful planning and multi-step workflows. They quickly become complex, dramatically reducing the accessibility of their full functionality. This year, that may change: the Shortcuts app will now allow you to create automations or shortcuts using natural language. You can describe the shortcut you want in detail, and the app will create it. For example, you could tell Shortcuts, “Send a message to my partner with their estimated time of arrival when I leave work.” Based on this request, Shortcuts will be able to integrate Messages, Apple Maps, and a task into a single automation, without having to create steps from scratch.
AI-enabled communication systems
Apple is integrating Siri artificial intelligence into all its core apps, including Phone, Mail, Messages, and even Calendar. When you’re talking to a family member or business representative, the Phone app will automatically display contextual information, such as a reservation number or flight details, in case you need it. Natural language input will also be added to the Calendar app. You can create meetings with detailed dates, times, and the name of the person you’re speaking with.
Apple Intelligence will also monitor your conversations in Messages and provide contextual suggestions when needed. For example, if someone asks for a photo or address, you’ll see one-tap reply suggestions with the relevant data already loaded. Smart Reply will be able to create messages on your behalf in the Mail and Messages apps, preserving your writing style. According to Apple, the AI ββcan adjust tone depending on the contact; so emails to your boss might sound more formal than text messages to your best friend. Apple also says it’s improving its grammar, spelling, and speech-to-text tools using AI. The latter will automatically remove filler words, add correct punctuation, and format your speech.
Apple’s Home app has received a number of AI enhancements.
Apple Intelligence will automatically consolidate all smart home notifications into a single, active stream. You won’t receive five notifications in a row just because you opened the garage door, then the front door, and turned on the outside lights; instead, a single alert will dynamically update to reflect the changes. The Home app will also summarize movements from HomeKit cameras and provide a text description of any important updates.
Apple has also improved search in the Home app, particularly for camera footage. You can now search using natural language, and the Home app will search through all your cameras to show you the moment you’re looking for. Please note that AI-powered summary and multi-camera search are only available to iCloud+ subscribers.
Apple Vision Pro now features a Siri glowing ball.
Siri artificial intelligence also makes its way into the Apple Vision Pro. The Siri app with conversational mode is also present, but even more exciting is that you can now add a glowing Siri orb to your Vision Pro space. You can place it anywhere in your home and initiate a conversation simply by glancing at it. The orb glows and responds in the same way.
