Apple AirPods Finally Get the Long-Awaited Equalizer Controls You’ve Been Waiting For.

At today’s WWDC conference, Apple announced the addition of customizable equalizer controls to AirPods with the release of iOS 27. Previously, the company’s headphones already had their own adaptive equalizer, but it was not customizable.
A new custom equalizer feature will appear in AirPods settings upon their release. In typical Apple style, the controls are relatively simple and easy to use. You’ll see a graph of low, mid, and high frequencies, and you can drag simple sliders to boost or cut these frequencies. It’s not as feature-rich as some other equalizer interfaces, but most users won’t need that.
The custom profile will be used in parallel with the Apple-recommended equalizer profile. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear you can set up multiple custom profiles to switch between, but given how easy they are to set up, this probably won’t be a big issue.
