I Love the Conversate App on These Smart Glasses.

I’m absolutely crazy about the Conversate app on my Even Realities G2 smart glasses. The glasses look cool, almost like something out of a sci-fi movie —they project a small monochrome HUD in front of your eyes, but they look like regular glasses—but Conversate is simply indispensable . This AI-powered productivity tool is designed for work meetings, but it’s also great for casual conversations, and you can use it to scam bartenders for free drinks.

Use Conversate and forget about taking notes in meetings.

If you’ve ever left a work meeting and thought, “Wait, am I supposed to be filling out TPS reports myself, or is this Gary’s week?” try Conversate. I’m not a great multitasker, so listening and taking notes at the same time can be challenging. Conversate solves that problem.

Here’s how it works: you press the “Start” button in the app, and the AI listens and transcribes everything someone says in real time. The text is out of your line of sight unless you look at it, so it’s not distracting, but if someone asks a substantive question, you’ll get a silent answer in a pop-up window in your glasses. Sharing this fact can make you seem super smart. Or a know-it-all, so use it wisely. If someone mentions the name of a person or company, you’ll get a pop-up window that also tells you who/what it is. This is usually useless (I already know what Google is and who Jesus Christ is), but sometimes it provides needed context.

After the meeting, you can review the meeting’s discussion, and Conversate will highlight any tasks that seem relevant. You can then move these tasks to the to-do list on your glasses with one click, so you’ll always have a list of tasks to check off.

I understand that all of these features could be achieved with a variety of smartphone apps, but with Conversate, you keep your phone in your pocket—it’s much more discreet.

How to use Conversate to win bar bets and look smart.

I used the latest generation of Even Realities smart glasses to win a drink from a bartender , and Conversate makes such shenanigans even easier. They constantly listen to questions and suggest answers, so if you’re dishonest, you can become a quiz show star, impress your friends with your “human calculator” skills, or tell everyone the day of the week they were born. An added bonus for cheating: the G2 don’t look like smart glasses, and if you connect them to the ring controller, no one will ever know you’re cheating.

How to Have Fun at Parties with Conversate

The game’s final use really depends on who you’re chatting with, but in the right company, Conversate makes for a hilarious party game. It’s fun to read people stilted definitions of common terms, provided by the AI, while slightly lagging behind the conversation. It’s hilarious when your friends start saying obscure names to see if your glasses can guess who they are. It’s funny when people come up with “actions” that you’ll supposedly have to perform later. Everyone at the party will call you a nerd, but they’ll still want to try on your glasses. Are they secretly jealous of your high-tech gear? Honestly, probably not. Either way, once you’re done chatting with your friends, Conversate will translate jokes and small talk into “company speak,” which I really like.
