The New Google Pixel 10a Is Now on Sale With a $50 Discount.
Last month, Google released a budget version of the Pixel 10 A-series, and while the 10a isn’t much different from the previous 9a model, it offers several software upgrades that may justify its purchase for some users. And if that sounds like you, you can snag this budget phone at a significant discount right now. On Amazon, the unlocked Google 10a with 128GB storage is $449 (original price: $499), and all four colors are on sale.
As you can read in Lifehacker’s review , the Pixel 10a’s specs are similar to the Pixel 9’s. It features a Tensor G4 processor, 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of storage. It also has the same camera system: a 48MP main lens, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 13MP front-facing camera. Battery life also exceeds 30 hours, and the MagSafe-like PixelSnap feature is missing. The main improvement is a brighter 3000-nit display, thinner bezels, and improved Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.
But the true value of the Pixel 10a may lie in its software and artificial intelligence. It includes two AI camera features that debuted in the Pixel 10. One is Auto Best Take, which takes 150 photos with a single click, selects the best shot, and automatically deletes the rest (or combines elements from multiple shots to create a new “best” image). And Camera Coach, which uses AI to help you take the best photo. Google also added Satellite SOS to an a-series phone for the first time. This allows you to connect to a satellite and request emergency services if you don’t have cellular service. There are also a variety of settings and features you can enable to improve the user experience.
If you’re considering upgrading from a Pixel 9a or later, there’s little to justify the purchase. However, if you have a model older than the Pixel 9 or are upgrading to a Pixel for the first time, this is a great opportunity to do so at a significant discount.
