Apple Just Announced WWDC 2026.

WWDC 2026 is rapidly approaching. While Apple holds numerous events throughout the year, WWDC is one of two key Apple presentations eagerly anticipated by the tech community (the other being the fall iPhone event). It’s Apple’s chance to showcase all the software updates the company has been working on since the last WWDC—and all the features associated with them. This year, that will likely include iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and watchOS 27.

When is WWDC 2026?

On Monday, Apple announced that WWDC 2026 will begin on Monday, June 8, and run through Friday, June 12. If you’re used to watching a single presentation at past WWDCs, the fact that this year’s event will span several days may come as a surprise. But WWDC isn’t just one announcement; it’s essentially Apple’s “Worldwide Developers Conference,” which typically lasts a full week. While a major presentation kicks off the conference, the rest of the week is filled with talks on topics of interest to Apple developers.

But if you’re not an Apple developer, the only day you’re really interested in is June 8th. That’s when Apple will unveil all its software news. The presentation begins at 10:00 AM Pacific Time (1:00 PM Eastern Time). While details are scarce, the presentation is expected to last between 60 and 90 minutes. Apple says the presentation will be available to watch in the Apple Developer app , on the Apple website , and on the company’s official YouTube channel . Viewers in China can watch it on the Apple Developer channel on bilibili .

What can we expect from WWDC 2026?

As mentioned above, WWDC will be dedicated to Apple’s latest major updates. Last year, the company used the “26” naming scheme for the first time, and this year will likely be no exception—except that the number will increase to 27.

What do you think at the moment?

Regarding iOS 27, there are two important changes worth noting. First, there’s the long-awaited update to Siri, powered by artificial intelligence . The company first announced these changes back in 2024 with iOS 18, introducing a context-aware Siri that was far smarter than the assistant we know today. Imagine asking Siri when your friend’s flight would arrive, and the bot knowing how to scan your email to find their itinerary, or asking it to edit and send a picture to a family member, all without your intervention. This was Apple’s vision for Siri two years ago; that vision has yet to materialize. However, rumors suggest we’ll get it with the iOS 27 update, so we’ll just have to wait and see what Apple announces in June.

However, another major feature of iOS 27 may not be a feature at all . Apple may be dedicating this update cycle to fixing bugs and improving stability rather than introducing flashy new features. I’m all for this: while iOS 26 felt relatively smooth for me, I’ve seen quite a few complaints from users online, particularly about the keyboard. Apple actually released a fix for this in iOS 26.4 , but I think it’s always wise to use the same resources you’d otherwise spend developing new features to smoothing out the rough edges. macOS Tahoe has also received its share of criticism : in fact, I wouldn’t install it on my M1-powered iMac until macOS 26.3, which seemed slightly more stable than previous versions.
