CES 2026: This Water Dispenser Uses Facial Recognition to Track Your Cats’ Drinking Habits.

On Monday, I spent some time at the Petkit booth at CES, where I saw an automatic wet cat feeder , the latest smart litter box, and an AI-powered water bottle. Of course, ideally, a water bottle should do just one thing: provide fresh water to your pet. However, the Eversweet Ultra water bottle adds a number of smart features, some of which seem particularly useful for multi-cat owners.
The Eversweet camera tracks your cats’ drinking habits.
I first learned about this water dispenser last week when Petkit officially announced it , and some of the specs and features match what’s on paper and what’s in reality: this smart dispenser comes with a five-liter reservoir and a 1080p camera with a 140-degree wide-angle field of view. This allows you to see your cat approach the dispenser and track their drinking habits. You can either connect to the live stream to watch them drink, or watch pre-recorded videos saved in the app. Petkit told me the app even automatically cuts the videos for posting on social media—in case you think your friends and family might want to see close-ups of your cat drinking water.
However, one of Petkit’s main advantages is its health tracking. The videos aren’t just for sharing on Stories; the camera can track your pet’s water consumption over time, noting any deviations or changes. You can see daily, monthly, and even yearly water consumption trends, so you can see if your cat is drinking abnormally much water in January. I’d consult with a veterinarian before making any definitive statements about the effectiveness of this tracking, but I can imagine it could be useful for monitoring any behavioral changes your cat might not notice unless you closely monitor their drinking.

This doesn’t change even if you have multiple cats. The Eversweet camera uses machine learning for facial recognition and can identify individual cats in your home. Health tracking can be applied to specific cats when they drink water, so the results shouldn’t be mixed across different pets. If you really want to know when one cat drinks more water than another, this will help you do just that.
Eversweet Water Bodies
While some water dispensers recirculate water, Eversweet drains after a set period of time. I knew this from the press release, but it was amusing to watch the machine drain in real time: the pump that supplies the water shuts off, and the entire mechanism rises, revealing the drain hole. The water pours out, and the spout refills the reservoir to empty it again. This is an attempt to clean the tray and remove any remaining hair or debris.
Petkit also specifically showed me that the dispenser’s pump runs constantly, turning Eversweet into a sort of water feature—though it’s not worth buying just for decoration. The idea is that cats are more attracted to moving water than standing water, which encourages them to drink. I don’t have a cat, so I can’t confirm this, but it’s an added aesthetic bonus—until the water runs out, of course.
Petkit says it plans to release Eversweet in April, and it will be available on both Amazon and the official Petkit website.
