Apple’s new MacBook Pro with the M5 chip is a stunningly good computer. If I hadn’t bought my MacBook Pro M4 Pro last year, I’d probably buy it right now. The M5 chip is a significant improvement over the M4, especially in terms of AI. Plus, on Cyber Monday, Amazon is discounting the new MacBook Pro M5 to $1,349 . That’s down from the original price of $1,599, a savings of $250.
In this scenario, the M5 MacBook Pro is a compelling choice for those looking for a Mac laptop that will last for years to come. The M5 MacBook Pro also significantly outperforms the MacBook Air thanks to its stunning 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display (I’m having a hard time going back to my 4K monitor after this). This XDR display features Mini-LED backlighting, 120Hz ProMotion technology, and 1600 nits of peak HDR brightness.
The M5, meanwhile, is a new 10-core processor, which Apple claims is 15% faster than the M4. The real performance gains are in graphics and AI. The new 10-core GPU features a neural network accelerator integrated into each core. This accelerates on-device AI processes up to 3.5 times. This is a significant leap when you also use third-party AI models on the device. Graphics are also improved by up to 30% thanks to Apple’s third-generation ray tracing technology. Gaming on the Mac can finally be an uncompromising experience (though compatibility is still limited depending on the game).
In addition to 16GB of RAM, there’s a 512GB SSD and an impressive 24-hour battery life. My MacBook Pro M4 Pro’s battery isn’t as big as I’d like. The M5 is more efficient, lasts longer, and runs cooler. You can also use it for intensive workflows like photo and video editing, and thanks to its built-in fan, it can withstand prolonged heat loads. There’s also an excellent 12MP Center Stage webcam on the top bezel and a six-speaker sound system with Spacial Audio support. The speakers are truly amazing. When my wife and I watch something in bed, we no longer need to connect to Bluetooth speakers (as we do with my wife’s MacBook Air).
If you’re looking for something cheaper or lighter, check out the M4 MacBook Air, which is on sale for just $738 on Cyber Monday , making it another great deal.
Does Apple have a Cyber Monday?
Yes, Apple is participating in Cyber Monday, but you might want to compare their sales to other retailers like Best Buy and Walmart . Apple is offering an exclusive $250 gift card for qualifying purchases, but the best Apple product deal on Cyber Monday right now is the MacBook M4 at an all-time low .
Are Cyber Monday deals better than Black Friday?
Black Friday used to favor large retailers and higher-end appliances, while Cyber Monday favored cheaper appliances and gave small businesses the opportunity to compete online. However, today, this distinction has become virtually meaningless. Every major retailer runs sales on both days, so it’s best to know what you need, use price trackers, or consult guides like our blog, which uses price trackers, and not worry about finding the perfect time.
How long do Cyber Monday deals actually last?
Black Friday sales officially begin on Friday, November 28, 2025, and will run throughout Cyber Week—the five-day period from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday, December 1, 2025. However, the dates of Black Friday and Cyber Monday have been pushed back as retailers compete for shoppers. The sales are expected to conclude by December 3, 2025.
