Google Play Store Makes It Easier to Remotely Uninstall Apps From Other Android Devices.

If you have multiple Android devices, you’ll likely want the interface to be roughly the same on all of them. If you download an app that works well on your phone, you’ll likely want to install it on your tablet or even Chromebook. Likewise, if you no longer need an app on one device, you probably won’t want to keep it on others.

However, deleting apps from each device individually can be annoying. Perhaps you use an app on your smartphone and decide to uninstall it, but forget to do so on your other devices. It might sit on your tablet or Chromebook for a while before you realize you want to delete it. This is annoying, but in extreme cases, it can also be risky: you might be trying to uninstall an app that later turns out to be malicious , but if it’s still on your other devices, it could end up causing harm. While there is a way to remotely uninstall apps on other devices, it’s hidden in the “App & Device Management” section, making it difficult to access.

The latest Play Store update aims to fix this issue. As noted by Android Authority , starting with version 48.8, the Play Store now allows you to easily uninstall apps from other devices using your smartphone. After installing this version of the Play Store (and future versions), you can visit the app’s page in the Play Store and find the new “Available on other devices” section. Here, you’ll see all connected Android devices with the option to “Uninstall” or “Install” the app on them. No more digging through settings.

This feature should make it easier to maintain order and organization in the Android ecosystem, but it’s not the only improvement the Play Store is implementing. Starting next year, Google will begin penalizing apps that consume too much battery power. The Play Store will either remove such apps from visibility pages or add a warning to their app pages alerting users that these apps are using more battery than necessary.
