Get Free Games and Add-Ons From Ubisoft and Epic All Week
My favorite part of the holidays is knowing that some game developers and distribution services will stop at nothing to get my attention. I’m fine with the resulting marketing flow because that usually means I can spend 15 minutes or so every day – for about a week – collecting a bunch of free games, add-ons, and other time-sensitive goodies.
I already do this about once a week at the Epic Games Store and Amazon Prime Gaming , so it really isn’t that hard to keep up with the breakneck pace during the holidays. After all, it’s free it’s free. And if you want to join me on my adventures, it couldn’t be easier.
First, you’ll want to visit Ubisoft Connect now. Every single day, from yesterday (oops) to Saturday, December 19th, Ubisoft is giving away some free item. The company did not specify exactly what you will be rewarding each day, but digital gifts will range from in-game gifts (like yesterday’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Rewards pack ) to full free games. Don’t hold your breath until AAA games hit your digital stockpile, but again, free is free. I never say no to a free game because you never know when you will be able to play something new in your vast library.
Today, for example, Ubisoft is offering a free copy of Starlink: Battle for Atlas . I’ve always wanted to check the title but not sold enough to buy it (or any physical accessories for it). Now that it’s free, I will definitely spend a little time on it in the coming weeks. HopeSlippy can keep this together.
After that, you’ll want to set a daily calendar reminder for Epic Games . I’ve already talked about the amazing RPGs you need to get for free right now , the emphasis is on purpose, but this is just the tip of the iceberg of free games. Starting December 17, Epic will be giving away one free game every day for two weeks. That’s all. There is no catch; you just need a (free) Epic Games account. Once you add free games to your library, they will remain yours forever.
Now it is important to adjust your expectations. No, you won’t get a copy of Cyberpunk 2077 , Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, or any other $ 60 game just released. You will get some old titles, some super titles, and some interesting headlines, but don’t expect to kiss like a thug. Last year’s games included:
- Little hell
- Celeste
- Perfectly accurate combat simulator
- FTL: faster than light
- The Talos Principle
- Hi, neighbor
- Very hot
Don’t get me wrong, these are all good games. They just aren’t, say, Immortals Fenyx Rising . Even if you don’t feel like playing anything right now, check back every day to add free games to your library. You never know when you might need to scratch your itch for a specific name.
I haven’t heard of any other gaming services running daily giveaways, but if anyone else feels the generosity, I’ll add more details to this article. If not, keep checking regular sources for free stuff and you’ll have plenty of reasons to celebrate (and have fun) during the 2020 quarantine.
