Best Ways to Clean Grout
The tile is easy to clean, but good luck returning the surrounding grout to its original pearl white color.
Because they are so narrow and coarse, grout lines can be problematic to clean (unless you like sitting around with your toothbrush for hours). Fortunately, we have three ways to make cleaning up your solution easier.
Steam cleaner
As we tested earlier, the handheld steam cleaner with a brush attachment works wonders for removing dirt from the solution. Since the steamer will spray dirty water onto the tiles below, make sure you enter from top to bottom and be sure to wipe off any dirty water while cleaning.
Magic eraser
The magic eraser (common name: melamine foam) is great for brightening grout. Just wet the eraser and squeeze out excess water. Rub the solution and see how it gets rid of dirt and grime quickly.
Whitening gel
Apply a dab of toilet cleaning gel and bleach along the lines of the shower solution. Roll a piece of toilet paper into a long snake and gently press it against the bleach. Wait one hour, then remove the toilet paper, rinse and wipe dry.
