When the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 were announced this summer, Samsung fans knew a Fan Edition (FE) version was just around the corner. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE launched in late July and, as expected, was significantly cheaper than the Flip 7 without sacrificing any features . A few months later, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE has become even cheaper: the updated version with 256 GB of storage is now listed on Woot for $699 (originally $959.99).
The Z Flip 7 FE is very similar to the flagship Z Flip 7, but at a much lower price, and that’s its main advantage—the same can be said for virtually every FE version Samsung has released. The Z Flip 7 FE has the same cameras as the Z Flip 7 and the same display, but it’s slightly smaller and has a 60Hz refresh rate. It’s also slightly narrower, which could be a plus or a minus depending on your preference. The processor is an Exynos 2400 instead of the 2500, but most people won’t notice the difference. Considering you’re saving $200 to $300 compared to the Z Flip 7 for a very similar phone (and one of the best flip phones on the market), this makes the FE version a great option.
