In my 20 years of working in tech journalism, I’ve honestly lost count of how many tablets (and tablet-laptop hybrids ) I’ve reviewed over the years. When it comes to these devices, I know how to spot a fake from a gem. Ahead of the second day of Prime Day sales, I present my picks for the best tablets.
11-inch Google Pixel tablet
If you’re fully immersed in the Google ecosystem, the Google Pixel tablet is the perfect choice, especially considering it’s currently discounted by more than a third as part of the Prime Day deal. Now priced at $309 instead of the original $499, it will satisfy all your basic tablet needs, from watching videos to surfing the web.
In addition to an 11-inch screen (with a 2560 x 1600 resolution), this model offers 256GB of storage, a Tensor G2 processor, and the latest Android 16 software. Add the official dock (sold separately), and you can turn it into a smart home hub, boosting video and audio volume while the tablet charges.
11-inch Apple iPad A16
Apple has updated its 2025 entry-level tablet lineup with the release of an 11-inch iPad powered by the A16 processor. Even with an initial price of $349, the 128GB model represents excellent value. Now you can knock $70 off: Amazon is selling it for $279 for Prime Day.
There are more expensive iPads, but the cheapest one does a great job of doing all the things you’d typically use a tablet for: checking email, posting on social media, browsing the web, watching movies, and more. With four colors to choose from, many people won’t have to pay more.
12.4-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+
If you’re a fan of Samsung or Android tablets (or all three), the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ is worth your attention. It’s like an iPad Pro for Android users, with a stunning 12.4-inch OLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, 12GB of RAM, a dual rear camera, a host of Galaxy AI features, and an included S Pen stylus.
It’s an impressive device in every way, and you can now get the 256GB version of this tablet for $824.99 instead of $999.99.
13-inch Apple iPad Pro M4
The entry-level iPad is mentioned earlier on this page, but if you want the most powerful Apple tablet in the world, you need the 13-inch iPad Pro M4 . The 256GB model is now available for $200 less, so you can get it for $1,099 instead of $1,299.
It’s hard to say anything new about the iPad Pro: as you no doubt already know, they’re incredibly powerful and incredibly elegant devices that can replace your laptop and more. They have excellent cameras and speakers, are incredibly versatile, and are compatible with a variety of accessories (including keyboard cases and the Apple Pencil).
11-inch Amazon Fire Max 11
This Amazon Fire Max 11 deal is my favorite of all the Amazon deals on the site. The 64GB model has been reduced from $229.99 to $139.99, saving you $90 on an already pretty cheap device.
Don’t let the low price fool you into thinking this is a low-quality tablet. It’s perfect for browsing the web and emailing, watching movies and TV shows, and light mobile gaming. Its 11-inch screen makes it compact and easy to carry.
Looking for something different? Retailers like Walmart and Best Buy are running Prime Day sales, which are especially helpful if you don’t have an Amazon Prime subscription.
