Over the years, I’ve tried more headphones and earbuds than I can count, and not all of them have been a success. But these are. In my opinion, here are the best deals on headphones right now.

Prime Day’s best deals on headphones

The Sony WH-1000XM4 is a fairly old headset, but no less functional. It features one of the best noise-canceling systems and a stylish, minimalist design. It’s currently priced at just $188, a real bargain compared to the newer XM6 , which, even with a $20 discount, still costs over $400.

In the Apple ecosystem , Beats Studio Pro headphones cost just $170 instead of the usual $350. They also feature excellent noise cancellation and a built-in digital-to-analog converter (DAC) via USB-C, which is convenient if you need higher sound quality than Bluetooth.

There are also great deals on the Soundcore Anker Life Q20 for $35 , Beats Solo 4 headphones for $130, and Sennheiser Momentum 4 noise-canceling headphones for $230.

Prime Day’s Best Deals on Gaming Headsets

If you’re looking for something more gaming-focused, the HyperX Cloud Mix 2 ($140) is one of my favorites. It boasts a whopping 110 hours of battery life in Bluetooth mode, powerful 2.4 GHz active noise cancellation, and a convenient slot inside the left earcup for a low-profile USB-C adapter.

I still can’t believe the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless headphones, now only $143 , can last over 300 hours without recharging. I thought this claim was absurd until I tested them, and they actually exceeded the stated time by several days. After several years of use, I can say the faux leather headband has fallen apart a bit, but in terms of battery life, this headset is simply unrivaled.

There are also great deals on the excellent Arctis Nova Pro headphones with a SteelSeries DAC for $264 , the more affordable Nova 7P for $120 , and the stylish Razer Blackshark V2 Pro headphones for $130 .

Prime Day’s best deals on headphones

I use SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds almost every day, but don’t let the name fool you. They’re not just for gaming. Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I used them for gaming, but they can be used with any console if you want. The Xbox version costs $128, but even that name is a bit of a misnomer. The Xbox version’s USB-C adapter has a switch for Xbox compatibility, but in PC mode, it works perfectly with PlayStation. So save some money and get support for all platforms.

Apple users are currently enjoying discounts on the AirPods Pro 2 ($170) and AirPods 4 ($119) . The former offer slightly better active noise cancellation and longer battery life, but the latter are on par with both. Both models last up to 30 hours with the charging case, though the Pro 2 can do the same with noise cancellation enabled. However, to achieve comparable battery life with the AirPods 4, you may need to carefully monitor your noise cancellation usage.

For those on a more budget-conscious budget, the Soundcore by Anker P20i earbuds are just $18, while the Beats Studio Buds+, on the other hand, are just $150.

Looking for something different? Retailers like Walmart and Best Buy are running Prime Day sales, which are especially helpful if you don’t have an Amazon Prime subscription.

• Best Buy’s Prime Day sale runs from September 27th to October 12th and is one of the best tech sales in the world. It’s especially great for My Best Buy Plus or Total members.
