Best Buy has joined the fray with Amazon’s Prime Big Deals Day , the fall equivalent of Prime Day. In fact, Best Buy will be holding two sales before the main Techtober sale, so I’ve compiled all the information below to help you navigate the confusion.
All Best Buy sales for October
Best Buy’s Fall Sale is actually three separate sales, running from September 27th to October 12th. Here are the dates for each sale and what to expect:

From September 27th to 28th : 48-hour sale.

From September 28th to October 5th : Member Discount Days promotion. You must be a Best Buy Plus or My Best Total member, which starts at $49.99 per year.

From October 6th to 12th : Best Buy’s Techtober sale. This will be similar to Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale, which runs from October 7th to 8th.
Do you need to be a member to participate in the Best Buy Fall Sale?
Only the second event, from September 28 to October 5, will be available to paid subscribers only. The remaining events are open to everyone, but members will receive additional discounts during sales. Note that signing up for a My Best Buy subscription, which includes free shipping, is free . Signing up for one of the paid subscriptions (My Best Buy Plus for $49.99/year or My Best Buy Total for $179.99/year) will give you faster free shipping, exclusive prices and special offers, an extended 60-day return policy on most items, and access to select sales. Paid subscribers will also receive additional rewards from both the current sale and the upcoming Black Friday sale in July.
What deals can I expect during the Techtober sale?
Best Buy doesn’t have an official list of discounts yet, but in an email, the company announced that shoppers can expect discounts on tech items such as laptops, TVs, headphones, video games, e-bikes, and more. The retailer will post new deals daily in stores, on its website, and in the Best Buy mobile app .
Which other retailers are competing with Amazon for October’s Prime Day promotion?
Following Amazon’s announcement of Prime Big Deal Days, Target and Walmart have announced their own promotions. Target is holding Circle Week , which runs from October 5th to 11th, and Walmart is holding Walmart Deals from October 7th to 12th.
