This Samsung Curved Gaming Monitor Is Selling for Less Than Prime Day

When it comes to gaming monitors, an ultrawide screen takes the experience to the next level, providing a more immersive experience than a regular monitor. Unfortunately, this improvement usually comes at a much higher price. This is where sales come in. Samsung is currently selling its 34-inch Samsung Odyssey G5 for $279.99 (originally $399.99), which is the lowest price ever for this monitor, according to price tracking tools .

The Samsung Odyssey G5 is a great ultrawide monitor for those who haven’t used one before. It has all the features you’d expect, but it’s still relatively inexpensive. Other high-end ultrawide monitors cost $700 and up, like the Odyssey OLED G9 . However, they’re much larger and offer image quality comparable to OLED.

What do you think at the moment?

The Odyssey G5 features a 1000R curvature, which Samsung says is optimal for reducing eye strain. Your media will be displayed in a 21:9 aspect ratio and a 3440×1440 resolution, which means that when watching videos that aren’t compatible with this ratio, there will be black bars around the edges to prevent the image from looking stretched. There’s also a 165Hz refresh rate and built-in FreeSync variable refresh rate (VRR) support, which ensures fast-paced games will be smoother. Input lag is 1ms, which is very low for a budget gaming monitor. It’s also HDR10 compatible, so watching movies or TV shows will be fine, but mostly in dark rooms as the peak brightness of HDR isn’t very high.
