New to Prime Day? We’ve got everything you need to get started . Sales information is accurate at time of publication, but prices and stock levels are subject to change.
When I’m not writing about the coolest gadgets and cool gear on sale on Prime Day, I’m a musician — a terrible one, but still a musician. And the Akai Professional MPK Mini MK3 MIDI keyboard is my go-to tool for making cool music.
It’s the choice of many bad musicians because it’s fairly inexpensive, and because this MIDI keyboard and Garage Band or FL Studios are all you need to make bad music and create your own terrible beats. Add a cheap USB microphone and you, too, can record disses aimed at your then-ten-year-old son, inspired by your old Mario Kart rivalries .
Bad musicians used to have to rent out entire studios to record terrible music, but that’s no longer the case: The Akai Pro is now just $83.99 (for some reason, it ‘s $79.79 for the red version ). Amazon users have rated it 4.6 out of 5 stars, and it has over 28,000 reviews. That’s a lot of bad musicians!* If you want to join in, you’d better hurry: the Prime Day sale is almost over.
Seriously guys, this is a great product that I use almost every day: it’s easy to use, has 25 velocity-sensitive keys, drum pads, programmable dials to control the virtual synth, and more. It has everything you need for basic music production on your computer.
*Akai Professional MPK Mini MK3 MIDI keyboards can also be used to create good music. At least that’s what I’m told.
