Working outside has become one of my favorite things to do in the spring and summer, but my devices start to run out of battery around 1 p.m. Lugging a heavy power station to a picnic table is a chore, so I was thrilled when Anker sent me the C200 last year. This plucky little station is small—just about 8 inches tall—and has a soft handle. It’s like a purse, but powerful. At 4 pounds, it’s small enough to slip into a bag, and right now, during Prime Day, it’s $109.99 (down from $169.99).
But the C200 has some extra perks. You don’t have to lug around a cord. You can quickly charge it in about 70 minutes with a 140W power port, but you don’t have to. It’s also powered by USB-C, which everyone has at home. Plus, it’s solar-chargeable, so if you’re going camping, it’s not a resource that’s running low. And finally, it has a car power port, so you can keep it in your car, ready to go.
It’s not very powerful, only 192 Wh, and the output power is about 200 W. But that’s enough for laptops, phones, tablets, medical devices – everything you might need on the go.
You can control this device via the Anker Solix app, which is surprisingly convenient. By setting times and priorities for connected devices, you can extend the runtime. The app will also notify you when the C200 is finished charging.
The output is also just USB-C, but it’s a fast-charging USB port with two-way charging. I keep this by my front door because I often take it into the garden when I go outside. It can charge tools, my phone, or small speakers. It goes on camping trips with me and sits on the picnic table all day for others to use. It’s a great charging station to have on hand, and at $100, it’s a pretty reasonable price.
