New to Prime Day? We’ve got the lowdown on everything you need to know . Sales are accurate at the time of publication, but prices and inventory are always subject to change.
Life as an Apple Homekit user can be lonely. The vast majority of smart home devices are built for Google Home and Alexa, though in the last few years some have integrated Matter , which acts as a bridge and also gives Apple users access. However, using products through Matter often limits functionality, limiting you to the basics. It’s not fun.
Eve is a company that decided to be ahead of Apple from the start. Sure, its products include Matter, but that’s so Android, Google, and Alexa users can access the features, not the other way around. These devices are Homekit-native, so if you’re an Apple user, you get access to all of their features.
Eve offers a wide range of smart home devices, including indoor and outdoor cameras, smart speakers , weather stations , home leak detectors , and even hose controllers , and many of its products are heavily discounted on Prime Day — up to 60% off. If you’re an Apple smart home fan, it’s like Christmas in July.
One of the best aspects of Eve’s products is the Eve app. The clean user interface is a nod to the Apple ecosystem, but it also provides stats that I don’t often see in other smart home apps. It offers predictive energy and water usage on devices, and all the data is easily exported to a spreadsheet. The Eve app will also let you create automations that go far beyond what Apple Homekit can offer. The process is so seamless that even though I’m primarily a Google Home user, I keep a few Eve devices on hand and pull out my iPad to control them.
In particular, I’m impressed by the current deal on the Eve Smart Plugs ( Eve Energy ), which are 20% off. They complement Eve’s other products perfectly, because you’ll be able to access the predictive data discussed above. For the same reason, the Eve Light Strip is my favorite thing for adding under-shelf lighting in the kitchen; it’s a whopping 63% off. The Eve Flare is another fun item—it’s a large, waterproof smart bulb. Use it in the garden or anywhere in the house, and control the color of the light from your phone.
I’ve highlighted other Eve products that I’ve tested or recommend considering in the product list above. Now is the time to buy.
